
Otto Henfling

Otto brings a wealth of experience and expertise, with a solid background in the Australian Public Service and a remarkable tenure of nearly 20 years in the not-for-profit/for-purpose sector, serving as both CEO and as non-executive board member and chair. Throughout his career, Otto has been dedicated to empowering individuals to enhance their capabilities and embrace new opportunities. Otto also brings an extensive knowledge of the faith-based not-for-profit sector and its intricacies, having worked in faith-based NFPs at the executive, CEO, and Board levels.
Otto holds a PhD in NFP leadership from the University of New England, a Master of Business Administration (with Distinction) and a Graduate Certificate in Business from Western Sydney University. Otto has served as the Vice-Chair (Research) of the Leadership Development Community in the International Leadership Association (ILA) for five years to 2025, and on the organising committees of the Global Followership Conferences in Claremont, USA (2025) and Brisbane (2026) reflecting his commitment to advancing leadership practices.
Otto has presented at conferences and co-authored a book chapter on Indigenous engagement with the NDIS. Upholding professional standards, Otto is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of both the Governance Institute of Australia and the Institute of Managers and Leaders. In addition, he is a member of several national and international professional bodies.
