FPA Welcomes Jennifer Johannesen, Amanda Salama and Monique Reynolds!
It has been a busy and start to 2023 with three new people joining the FPA team! They will support our non-profit and charity clients with legal work and other consultancy services.
Jen brings over 10 years of experience across charity law, intellectual property and technology law to the table. While she has worked extensively in private practice commercial teams, including at a top tier firm, her niche has undoubtedly become delivering results for not-for-profit and purpose-driven businesses. As a trusted advisor, Jen wields more than a decade of non-executive board experience. She is currently co-chair of SMART Recovery International and has established herself as a go-to advisor for a number of industry-leading not-for-profits across Australia. Dedicated to making a difference, Jen’s ability to confidently guide her clients and influence change on a broad scale ensures a positive result at every step of the legal process.
Amanda is an experienced lawyer, human resources professional and non-executive director. She has worked in the legal profession since 2004, variously as a paralegal, Tipstaff to a Supreme Court of NSW Judge and a solicitor. Admitted to practice in 2007, Amanda’s experience is across a variety of commercial litigation practice areas gained from preeminent mid and top tier legal practices, as well as in-house within the banking and finance and construction industries. For the last seven years, Amanda led the legal, compliance and human resource function for a premier Sydney civil construction business and has a deep understanding of compliance and governance in a highly regulated environment. Amanda is currently serving her second term as a non-executive director of CORE Community Services, a large community services not-for-profit servicing South-West Sydney offering aged care, NDIS, youth, settlement/multicultural and pre-school services. She is a pragmatic and commercially minded lawyer who understands the challenges faced by ‘for purpose’ businesses.
Monique is an experienced corporate advisor, supporting clients to achieve their strategic objectives, with a primary focus on assisting companies achieve sustainable and profitable growth. Through For Purpose Advisory, Monique assists non-profits and charities with business advisory services, such as identifying new revenue streams, customer transformation, project management office, and program management, and developing customer and employee journeys to maximise the overall experience. She also acts as Interim Executive for clients needing on-the-ground assistance, including providing assistance with start-ups and supporting executive teams in developing and executing strategic transformation initiatives. Monique is also licenced through Gibraltar Capital to independently support clients in funding transactions, including debt financing, corporate restructuring, capital raising and mergers and acquisitions advice. In addition, Monique advises on acquiring and disposing of property. Her current board experience extends to six years as a non-executive director of Southern Cross Care (SCC) NSW & ACT, delivering value to the board on the strategic direction of consumer directed care. Committee experience extends to Finance and Investments and Chair of Property Projects for SCC, and Chair of Major Property Projects Independent Advisory Committee for Ku-ring-gai Council. Monique has earned qualifications in Economics including a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and Masters in Applied Finance.
